Download RELAY

For Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and Apple Silicon Macs. Sessions work across both: a host on a Mac can stream to listeners on Windows, and the other way round. Listeners can also join in any browser at listen.kineticdsp.com, with nothing to install.

About the Mac beta

RELAY for Mac isn't signed with an Apple Developer ID or notarized by Apple yet, so macOS can't verify who made it and blocks it until you allow it (step 2 below). We'll sign and notarize it before the full release. Until then, download it only from this page, and install it at your own risk: like all of RELAY, it's provided as is, without warranty, under our terms of use.

Install on Windows

  1. Run the installer

Windows may say it protected your PC, because RELAY is new and not yet widely downloaded. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

  2. Rescan plugins in your DAW

The plugin goes to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 unless you pick another folder. Insert RELAY last on your master bus.

  3. Start RELAY

The app shows DAW connected once the plugin is running. Go live from the Start a session tab.

Install on Mac

  1. Move the files into place

Open the zip and move RELAY.app to Applications. Then move the plugin your DAW loads: RELAY.vst3 to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3, or for Logic Pro and GarageBand RELAY.component to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components. Installing both is fine.

  2. Allow the beta to open

The beta isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS blocks it at first. Choose Open Anyway in System Settings → Privacy & Security, or run this in Terminal:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/RELAY.app ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/RELAY.vst3 ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/RELAY.component

  3. Rescan plugins and start RELAY

Insert RELAY last on your master bus (in Logic Pro, on the Stereo Out; in Logic Pro and GarageBand it's under Audio Units → Kinetic DSP). The app shows DAW connected; go live from the Start a session tab.
